# Connect a WhatsApp group

> To use AI Notes in a WhatsApp group, save your Anyx contact, add it to the group and mention it once. Anyx then stays quiet in the group and emails you a note at the end of each interval.

Connecting a group takes about two minutes and happens in WhatsApp. There is no install and nothing for the other members to set up.

## Before you start

* **A paid plan or an active trial.** Starter, Pro and Max can connect groups. Free accounts cannot.
* **Your WhatsApp number is connected to Anyx.** This happens during sign-up. When it is done, Anyx sends you a message on WhatsApp.
* **A group you manage.** Only connect groups you administer, and let the members know Anyx is there.

## Steps

    Open your private chat with Anyx in WhatsApp and save the number to your phone contacts, so you can find it when you add group members.

    In the group, tap the group name, then **Add member**, and choose Anyx.

  <Step title="Mention Anyx once">
    From your own WhatsApp number, the one connected to your Anyx account, send a message in the group that tags Anyx. For example: `@Anyx hi`. This links the group to your account.

  <Step title="Tell the group">
    Let the members know that Anyx is in the group and what it does. You can use the message below.

  <Step title="Check the group in your account">
    On [anyx.app](https://anyx.app), open **Settings**, then **AI Brain**, then **WhatsApp Groups**. The group appears in the list. Open it and choose the **Notes** tab. Notes are on by default.

Your first note is processed on an upcoming scheduled run. It covers only messages from after Anyx joined, so if the group has been quiet there may be nothing to send yet. Delivery depends on activity and processing. To review a specific period, use **Generate notes for a date range** in the **Notes** tab.

  After the group is connected, Anyx stays quiet. It does not post notes in the group, and it only replies there when someone tags it.

## How many groups you can connect

| Max | Up to 120 |

When you reach your limit, Anyx does not link a new group. Remove a group you no longer need, or [change your plan](/plans).

## Stop or remove Anyx from a group

* **Pause notes, keep Anyx in the group.** In the group's **Notes** tab, turn off **Generate notes for this group**. Your existing notes stay available.
* **Stop email only.** Turn off automatic email for that group. Notes are still saved in your account.
* **Remove Anyx completely.** Remove Anyx from the group in WhatsApp, like any other member.

## If the group does not appear

1. Check that you tagged Anyx from the same WhatsApp number that is connected to your account.
2. Check that your plan or trial is active and that you have not reached your group limit.
3. Tag Anyx in the group again and wait a minute.
