# Privacy and security

> What Anyx stores, who can see it in the product, and how to pause or delete it. Anyx stores your chats with it, the files you send, and the messages of WhatsApp groups it is a member of, to write notes and remember context.

This page explains in plain words how Anyx handles your data. The [Privacy Policy](https://anyx.app/privacy) is the legal version and takes precedence.

## Anyx cannot see your other chats

Anyx is a separate WhatsApp contact. It is not connected to your WhatsApp account, so it cannot read your private chats or any group it is not a member of. It only receives what is sent to it directly, and the messages of groups it has been added to.

## What Anyx stores, and why

Anyx is a memory-based assistant. To remember, remind and write notes, it stores:

* **Your private chat with Anyx**, including voice notes, photos and documents you send.
* **Chat exports you upload**, to create the notes you ask for.
* **Messages of WhatsApp groups Anyx is a member of**, including voice-note transcriptions and the media content it can read, to write notes and to answer when someone tags it.
* **The notes it creates**, saved in your account.
* **Facts it remembers about you**, which you can review and delete in **Settings**, under **AI Brain**.

Anyx stores and processes this data on its own systems and with third-party service providers, such as hosting, AI, email and integration providers.

## Who can see what in the product

| Your private chat with Anyx | You. Group members and other Anyx users do not see it. |
| Notes from a group | You, in your account, and the email recipients you choose for that group |
| Group members | They see the group as usual. Notes are never posted to the group. |

## AI models

To answer you and write notes, Anyx sends message content to third-party AI providers. Anyx does not train AI models on your data. For the legal details, see the [Privacy Policy](https://anyx.app/privacy).

## Connected apps

When you connect an app such as Gmail or Google Calendar, you sign in on the app's own page. Access is managed by a dedicated integration provider, so Anyx does not store your app passwords. Anyx reads app data to do what you ask, or what a routine you created needs. You can disconnect at any time. See [Connect your apps](/assistant/integrations).

## Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page. Anyx does not see your full card number.

## Connections

Data travels between your device, Anyx and its providers over encrypted connections.

## Deleting data

Pausing notes stops new notes, and turning off email stops new emails. While Anyx is a member of a group, it still receives that group's messages. Removing Anyx from the group stops that. None of these actions delete what Anyx already stored. To delete stored data:

* **Single items.** Delete memories, lists and routines yourself in **Settings**, under **AI Brain**.
* **Everything else.** Email [support@anyx.app](mailto:support@anyx.app) from the address on your account and say what you want deleted: a group, your chat history, or your whole account.

## Your controls

* **Pause notes** for any group, or stop automatic email. See [Schedule, language and recipients](/ai-notes/settings).
* **Remove Anyx** from a group like any other member.
* **Pause reminders and routines** by replying `STOP` in your private chat.
